Many seek therapy because the path they have taken hasn't brought them where they thought it might. Others, having achieved long-held goals, seek support when an anticipated meaning, sense of purpose, and fulfillment are not realized. Some choose therapy because they feel caught in painful patterns that seem to repeat despite their best efforts to change.
Coming to the end of a familiar path, discovering that what once worked no longer does, or realizing you cannot see a way forward is not a sign of failure, weakness, or a character flaw. It is part of being human. Growth asks something different of us at different stages of life, and there are times when we reach the limits of what we can navigate alone.
We are shaped by relationship from the first moments of life. Our capacities to regulate emotions, trust ourselves, form meaningful connections, and move toward what we most value develop in relationship with others. When those capacities become strained, it does not mean we are broken. More often, it reflects an adaptation we developed to manage circumstances with insufficient support.
I believe therapy offers more than symptom relief. It provides a relationship in which you can become more deeply known, better understand yourself, and develop new ways of relating to your emotions, needs, and inner experience. My goal is not simply to help you cope with life circumstances, but to cultivate the inner capacities that allow you to meet life with greater creativity, motivation, and self-trust.
